It’s good to see the NSW government is moving forward with ‘The Goods Line’, a cross-city corridor linking central station to Darling Harbour as a pedestrian route with a variety of activity spaces.

This concept was first proposed by Conybeare Morrison in 1989 (25 years ago would you believe) when preparing a masterplan for the University of Technology properties at Broadway and Haymarket titled ‘UTS Strategy Plan’.  The idea has subsequently been picked up and owned by various proponents and it is fortunate the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA) is now in charge.

Visionary ideas often take a while to germinate!
