A visionary approach ensures the conservation and enhancement of the early twentieth century cultural landscapes that make up Bobbin Head and Apple Tree Bay. The 30 year masterplan includes a proposal to link the two parklands with a bush walk, future parking, public transport provisions and a general upgrade of the parklands to ensure these precious recreation areas are sustained into the future. The masterplan has some of the most advanced sustainability provisions written for a cultural landscape in the Department of Environment and Climate Change portfolio. The project won two prestigious awards - the National Trust Heritage Award 2007 - for Conservation Management Plans, Corporate/ Government and the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects 2007 Merit Award for Landscape Planning.
